    Peppol Directory

    Is this participant ID listed?

    Participant ID, including its scheme

    Directory listing, company names and document types when published.

    The Directory is voluntary. No entry does not prove that a company is outside the Peppol network.

    One workflow, two ways to run it

    In the dashboard

    Open Business verification, choose VIES or Peppol and enter the identifier. The two checks run separately.

    Through the API

    Use an API key with search:write permission. Both endpoints return structured results and share the account's daily allowance.

    In saved history

    Reopen previous results with their source and check time. History is visible only to the account that ran the check.

    Currently: 20 attempts per account per UTC day, shared by VIES, Peppol, the dashboard and API. Reset at 00:00 UTC. No screening credits or prepaid balance are deducted. API rate limits also apply.

    Use these results alongside separate sanctions screening and company research. ScreenVeritAI queries public sources; it does not issue VAT registrations, operate a Peppol Access Point or send invoices. A provider outage is shown as an error, never as a negative finding.

    Questions before your first check

    Q.01Can I use the official sources directly?
    Yes. VIES and Peppol Directory are public sources. ScreenVeritAI brings their results into your existing dashboard, API and saved history.
    Q.02Does not listed mean a company cannot receive Peppol invoices?
    No. Directory publication is voluntary. Current delivery capability requires SML/SMP discovery, which this Directory check does not perform.
    Q.03Do errors consume the daily allowance?
    Invalid input is rejected before consuming an attempt. Provider-error attempts currently count towards the daily allowance and are saved as errors, not negative findings.
    Q.04Does a valid VAT number mean the company passed AML checks?
    No. VAT validation and Directory lookup do not replace sanctions screening, ownership research or your team's due-diligence decision.
